Model | MSRP |
2021 R8 V10 Coupe RWD | $142,700 |
2021 R8 V10 Spyder RWD | $154,900 |
2021 R8 V10 Performance Coupe quattro | $196,700 |
2021 R8 V10 Performance Spyder quattro | $208,900 |
For 2021, the Singleframe grille features the honeycomb pattern with an R8 badge. On the V10 Performance models, the lower part of the front bumper is finished in matte Titanium color, with an option to go for carbon fibre. The sideblades, mirror housings, and the rear spoiler of the V10 Performance models are finished in carbon. At the rear, the diffuser houses the sports exhaust system with black oval tailpipes.
The V10 Performance models come standard with 20-inch 5-double-spoke wheels in titanium finish, with an option to go for anthracite finish. The ceramic brake calipers are available in red or blue, along with the standard gray finish. The optional carbon fibre front sway bar cuts down 2 kg (4.4 lbs) of weight.
For the RWD models, however, the front blade, the side sill inserts, and the rear diffuser are painted in high-gloss black as standard. The sideblades are finished in Mythos black and the exhaust tips are finished in chrome.
In terms of the equipment, LED headlights and LED taillights with dynamic turn signals are standard for all R8 models. Audi laser light is standard on the V10 Performance models and is optional on the RWD variants. Audi is also offering a carbon exterior package for the RWD, which adds carbon fibre to the engine compartment and sideblades.
Features in the cockpit include Alcantara headliner (coupe only), Audi Virtual Cockpit, Audi phone box with signal booster, MMI Navigation Plus, and 14-way power-adjustable sport seats. As you might expect, there are a bunch of packages and options too, which include 18-way power-adjustable seats, 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and high-gloss carbon fibre accents.
The naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 motor pumps out 540 hp (397 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. A 7-speed S tronic gearbox drives the rear wheels in the RWD variants. The R8 RWD Coupe is claimed to sprint from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.6 seconds while the Spyder takes 0.1 seconds more. The official top speed figures are 201 mph (323 km/h) and 200 mph (322 km/h), respectively.
Also, the chassis has been specifically adapted for rear-wheel drive, including using a solid rear axle as opposed to the hollow one; stiffer front anti-roll bar, and an increase in rear negative camber.
