Skoda has partnered with Czech transport company RegioJet to offer first and last mile connectivity in the country. RegioJet tickets will entitle the users to use the BeRider eScooter-sharing service and/or the HoppyGo peer-to-peer car-sharing service.
In case you’re scratching your head, ‘BeRider’ is a shared e-scooter service in Czech Republic by Skoda subsidiary — Skoda Auto DigiLab. The RegioJet ticket holder can simply take one of those e-scooters right up to a train coach and then hop on the coach to head to another city. They’re not taking the e-scooters onboard the train, of course.
The RegioJet ticket holders can use the e-scooters free of charge for 60 minutes after inputting a unique code they’ll receive via email. Upon reaching a different city via train, the user can then rent a shared car via HoppyGo to reach their final destination. The real collaboration here is, of course, the user will need just one app.
The DigiLab’s Citymove app already includes BeRider and HoppyGo options. It will soon also be possible to book RegioJet tickets directly in the app, Skoda said.
