The Mk8 Golf lineup has now received the Alltrack wagon that’ll come both in regular and sporty R-Line variants. Pre-orders have already begun in Germany, with other European markets to follow at a later date.
The new generation Alltrack is 4,633 mm long and boasts a wheelbase of 2,686 mm — a 66 mm increase compared with its predecessor. This translates to a 48 mm increase in the legroom for the rear passengers. With all seats up, the new Alltrack offers 611-litres of luggage space, which can be expanded to 1,642-litres — an increase of 22-litres. Options list includes an electric tailgate that can also be opened with a foot gesture.
As for the powertrains, the new Golf Alltrack will offer the same set of options as the regular Golf, which includes petrol, petrol-electric mild-hybrid and diesel powertrains. However, the Alltrack doesn’t appear to get a PHEV option at launch.
