Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has once again launched the TRD limited edition, priced at INR 34,98,000 for 4×2 AT and INR 36,88,000 for 4×4 AT variant. Prices are ex-showroom, Pan India (except Kerala).
The exterior styling is pretty similar to what we’ve seen previously (TRD Sportivo), with sporty bumpers and 18-inch TRD alloy wheels; the latter has a different design this time with Charcoal Black finish. There’s also a dual-tone paint scheme with a black roof.
Other features include illuminated door sills, dual-tone dashboard, Sporty Black & Maroon leather upholstered seats with red contrast stitching, and a 360-degree camera.
There are a bunch of accessories available under a ‘Special Technology Package’, which includes a Head-Up Display, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Digital Video Recorder, Air Ionizer, and Wireless Smartphone Charger for rear seat occupants.
Safety equipment includes 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, and Hill Assist Control.
The Fortuner TRD is available with a 2.8-litre (2,755 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that develops 130 kW (177 hp) at 3,400 rpm and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque between 1,600-2,400 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Unlike the TRD Sportivo before, the new TRD is available both in 4WD and RWD configurations.
The Fortuner TRD Sportivo launched in Thailand in 2018, had got TRD springs too.
