Tata Motors has rolled out 1000th Nexon EV from its plant in Pune, Maharashtra. The EV was launched in India in January 2020 and the company claims that it is already the best seller in its segment with a market share of 62% (in EVs) in Q1 FY21.
Earlier this month, the Nexon EV was launched as a subscription service with a starting price of INR 41,900 per month. More on that here.
Acceptance of EVs is accelerating fast, and we are seeing growing interest in it from all parts of the country. The rollout of the 1000th Nexon EV in a short time span, despite the challenges of Covid-19, reflects the rising interest of personal segment buyers in EVs. – Shailesh Chandra, President — Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors
Besides Nexon EV, Tata Motors also has Tigor EV in its BEV portfolio. The Altroz EV is expected to join the portfolio as a premium offering sometime in the future.
