Lexus has updated its flagship SUV offering, the LX, for the model year 2021. It gets a Sport Package and also the limited edition Inspiration Series.
Speaking of which, the Sport Package (featured above) gets an updated front grille, sporty bumpers, chrome-detailed side mirrors, and 21-inch forged alloy wheels. Inside, it gets Black headliner and semi-aniline leather upholstery in Black, Cabernet, or Glazed Caramel.
Limited to 500 units, the LX Inspiration Series is available either in Eminent White Pearl or Black Onyx finish. Other exterior touches include smoked headlights, taillights and fog lights; black grille, black window accents, black roof rails and black door handles; black rear badges, and 21-inch black alloy wheels.
Inside, the Inspiration Series features an exclusive Black semi-aniline leather with Rioja Red accents, black headliner, and unique floor mats. Other features include the 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, four-zone climate control, color Head-Up Display, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and wireless smartphone charging.
The driver’s seat is 14-way electrically adjustable, while the front passenger seat with 12-way electrical adjustability is not bad either.
All LX 570s come equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ suite, as well as, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert; Panoramic View Monitor and Multi-Terrain Monitor; and Intuitive Parking Assist.
The LX 570 continues to be powered by a 5.7-litre (5,663 cc) naturally aspirated V8 gasoline engine that develops 389 metric hp (286 kW) and 546 Nm (403 lb-ft) of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission routes power to LX’s full-time four-wheel drive system, which includes a Torsen limited-slip center differential.
The LX is rated to tow up to 3,175 kg (7,000 lbs).
In the U.S., the 2021 LX starts at $86,580. The LX Inspiration Series is priced at $99,310.
