Hyundai’s luxury marque Genesis is launching its updated flagship sedan, the G90, in South Korea as a 2021 model on July 2, 2020. There’ll also be a ‘Stardust’ special-edition model – exclusive to South Korea and limited to 50 units.
The G90 Stardust gets its inspiration from fantasizing a night scene with sky full of stars hanging above a red carpet event where celebrities are showered with flashing camera lights. The exterior is a dual-tone finish of ‘carbon metal’ paint with sparkling pearl effect for the upper section and ‘vik black’ for the lower half of the body.
The G90 Stardust interior features bespoke seats featuring two-tone leather upholstery and metallic pore Ash wood accents throughout the cabin.
The G90 Stardust represents the ultimate form of elegance. At that moment when you arrive at a red carpet event, nothing less is expected. – SangYup Lee, the head of Genesis Global Design
The updated Genesis G90 made its debut in November 2019 featuring the brand’s latest design language. Features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Adaptive Control Suspension, and a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Following Assist (LFA) and Rear Cross-traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA). Passive safety includes a total of 10 standard airbags.
The new G90 offers three petrol engines to choose from: a 3.3-litre turbocharged V6 with an output of 272 kW (370 hp) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque; a 3.8-litre V6 with 232 kW (315 hp) and 397 Nm (293 lb-ft) of torque; and a 5.0-litre V8 with 313 kW (425 hp) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque.
All three engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels as standard. AWD is optional.
