While the Volkswagen Polo delivery accident is still fresh in the minds of the people, another one has surfaced online. This time, however, it involves the massive Kia Carnival MPV.
At the beginning of the video, we can see that the owner/driver is getting a briefing from what appears to be one of the showroom staff standing outside with the driver’s side door open. After an official picture taking event, for some reason, the car starts to move while the staff member outside is still explaining something and the door is still open. It appears that instead of applying brakes, the driver floors the gas pedal. The minivan rams into the showroom compound destroying its frontal section.
Interestingly, the front airbags get deployed even though it doesn’t appear that the driver is wearing his seatbelt. They must be dual-stage airbags then. As it was a low speed crash, the occupants remained unhurt.
This is a classic case of an inexperienced driver driving an automatic transmission for the first time.
