It has been a long time since we heard anything from the ‘Maybach’ brand, isn’t it? Well, now there’s something. The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Sedan has got a Night Edition featuring some distinctive black and carbon fibre elements. The special edition is limited to just 15 units and is available only in the U.S. market for the 2020 model year.
The exterior of the limo is finished in Obsidian Black paintwork, complemented with “shadow smoked” 20-inch Maybach forged wheels. There’s also a subtle carbon fibre spoiler on the tailgate.
The interior gets a generous application of carbon fibre elements and Nappa leather upholstery in Porcelain & Black. The centre console gets the obligatory Night Edition logo to remind the occupants that they are in a special edition car. Also included are Night Edition leather floor mats and a trunk mat in black with porcelain edges.
Other features of the Maybach S 650 includes dual 12.3-inch high-resolution displays, 64-color ambient lighting, executive seats in the rear with a 43-degree reclining angle, Magic Body Control suspension, and Burmester 3D Surround Sound System.
The Maybach S 650 Sedan is powered by a 6.0-litre (5,980 cc) V12 biturbo gasoline engine, producing 463 kW (630 hp) between 4800–5400 rpm and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque between 2300–4200 rpm. The engine is paired with a 7G-Tronic automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels. A 0-60 mph (97 km/h) acceleration is claimed at 4.6 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
The 2020 Maybach S 650 Night Edition is priced at $242,950 (excludes $995 destination and delivery charge).
