Chevrolet has revealed the refreshed Equinox, but it is not yet ready to go on sale for reasons we’re bored of talking about. Anyway, the point is that the new, sportier Equinox will go on sale in the U.S. market in Q3 2021 as a 2022 model.
The refreshed Equinox sports re-designed front and rear fascias with new LED headlamps and a bold new grille. The taillamps have also been given a refresh with a neat little signature similar to that of the latest Chevy models such as the Trailblazer and Traverse. The Equinox will now be available in the sporty RS trim, which features a gloss black grille, black bowties, black badging, black window frames, black roof rails, and 19-inch Dark Android wheels.
The new Equinox will also be available in the ‘Premier’ trim, which gets gloss black grille with chrome inserts, LED headlamps and taillamps, new 19-inch wheels, and logo projection liftgate.
Inside, the RS trim gets an all-black theme with red contrast stitching. It also gets the RS shift knob. Standard safety and driver assistance features include Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Vision Camera, and Following Distance Indicator.
Options include HD Surround Vision Camera System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Parking Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert.
The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox will be available with 1.5L or 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engines, paired with 6 or 9-speed automatic transmission. AWD will be optional.
More details will be available closer to launch.
