Mazda has released its virtual race car, the RX-Vision GT3 Concept, for the PS4 game Gran Turismo Sport. It borrows some of the design cues from the RX-Vision concept that was showcased at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.
As with Mazda’s latest designs, the RX-Vision GT3’s lines are simple and elegant. However, the designers have injected a touch of aggressiveness on the front fascia to make it look like a GT3 version of the aforementioned 2015 concept. Adding to the drama are the side exhausts. The rear-end has a massive fixed wing that spans the entire width of the car.
Things look very neat on the inside too. The seat and the steering wheel are made of carbon fibre, and there’s a generous application of what appears to be Alcantara throughout the cabin.
The RX-Vision GT3 is powered by a 4-rotor engine, apparently inspired by the 787B’s engine, brought back to life with Mazda’s Skyactiv technology.
Since a lot of people are currently stuck at home, Mazda hopes that car enthusiasts all over the world will connect online and enjoy their virtual race car.
