Along with the Sienna minivan, Toyota also revealed the second-generation Venza crossover for the North American market. In case you couldn’t figure it out yet, the 2021 Venza is nothing but the 4th generation Toyota Harrier that was revealed in April 2020.
Except for the exterior badges, it is obviously, identical to the Japanese version. It gets generous amount of features including a 7-inch MID, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 9-speaker JBL audio system, 10-inch color Head-Up Display, and comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS 2.0) – a comprehensive suite of active safety systems.
The 2021 Venza LE rolls on 18-inch multi-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, while XLE and Limited trims come standard with 19-inch multi-spoke super chrome-finished alloy wheels.
Buyers can opt for the Star Gaze fixed panoramic glass roof. The Venza comes standard with power-adjustable front seats (8-way driver seat on all grades and 4-way passenger on Limited). The power driver’s seat features an auto slide-away function. The seat automatically moves to the rearmost position for better ingress and egress. When the vehicle is started, the seat moves to the last position set by the driver.
As with the Harrier, the Venza too is a hybrid SUV. The hybrid system is a combination of a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder gasoline engine and two electric motors. The total system output is 163 kW (222 hp). The rear electric motor makes the Venza an AWD vehicle. During off-the-line starts, the hybrid system pre-emptively sends up to 80% of driving force to the rear wheels to help prevent front-wheel slip. Read more about the Harrier here.
