Maruti Suzuki (MSIL) sold a total of 83,792 vehicles (domestic + export) in March 2020, registering a decline of 47% compared to 158,076 vehicles sold in March 2019. The company ended FY 2019-20 with a total sales of 1,563,297 vehicles.
The ‘Compact’ segment which includes the Wagon R, Swift, Baleno and Dzire, saw a decline of 50.9% in March 2020 while the ‘Utility Vehicles’ segment which includes the Vitara Brezza, recorded a decline of 53.4%. The Ciaz sedan, which appeared to be selling better in February 2020, saw a decline of 49.3% last month compared to 3,672 units sold in March 2019.
MSIL has teamed up with AgVa Healthcare to manufacture ventilators.
