Hyundai has revealed more interior details of the 3rd generation i20, which sports the updated ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language. The new images reveal a new Lime Green interior trim option. Black Mono and Black & Gray interior trims are also available.
As we saw previously, features include ambient lighting, and a combo of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch centre touchscreen – similar to that of the new Elantra. More available features include a wireless charging pad and an 8-speaker Bose Premium audio system that includes a subwoofer. The new i20 also gets SmartSense active safety features that include Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, which adapts the speed autonomously – sounds very similar to Adaptive Cruise Control.
The boot space is up by 25 litres compared to the previous generation i20 for a total of 351 litres.
In terms of drivetrains, for the first time, the new i20 is available with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. It is available with the 1.0 T-GDi engine with 100 or 120 hp. Another new feature is the Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT). Working with the 48-volt system, the iMT decouples the engine from the transmission when the driver releases the accelerator, enabling the car to enter into coasting mode and save fuel.
