Nope, this is in no way sponsored/paid post by Sony or any of its affiliates. As some of you might know, my choice of smartphones has always been the Xperia. I’ve been looking to upgrade my existing one and perhaps, the time has finally come.
Revealed today via online streaming, the Xperia 1 II (referred to as “Mark 2”) boasts some interesting specifications including 5G capability. It borrows technology from Sony’s α (alpha) cameras and expertise from the company’s entertainment business.
At the rear, there’s a triple lens setup with 12-megapixel resolution and a 3D iToF sensor. According to Sony, the Exmor RS image sensor in the Mark ii is 50% larger than on the previous model, which can receive more light resulting in better image quality. The Zeiss T* (T-Star) anti-reflective coating is claimed to enhance the quality of images. As for video recording, it can take 4K HDR up to 60 fps.
Other highlights of the Mark ii includes 21:9 CinemaWide 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display, up to 20 fps continuous burst shooting with AF and AE, real-time eye auto focus, Cinema Pro interface, front stereo speakers, 4,000 mAh battery, included fast charger, wireless charging, expandable storage, and even a 3.5 mm audio jack.
@sony_india Hi, could you please make the #Xperia 1 II available in India? There are lot of people including me interested in buying!

Last but not the least, it retains the dedicated physical camera button on the side. Most importantly, it has that classic boxy design that Xperia users like. Sony winded up its smartphone operations in India in 2019. Need to figure out a way to add this seemingly fantastic tool to the Devotgear.
