Although the Arteon is almost 3 years old, it still looks as if the covers came off just yesterday. It is such a good looking fastback sedan that one can easily choose over an Audi. Now, there’s a special R-Line Edition, limited to 1,000 units.
One the exterior, the car is finished in a two-tone Moonstone Grey with Black roof that is exclusive for the special edition. Darkened rear windows and 20-inch Rosario alloy wheels round off the exterior looks.
Other features include Nappa leather package, customizable ambient lighting, standard winter package with heating function for the outer rear seats and front seats, Discover Pro infotainment system, Area View, Park Assist, Adaptive Distance Control (ACC), and Dynamic Light Assist for the LED headlamps.
Powering the Arteon R-Line Edition will be 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engines paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG). The range starts with a TSI petrol engine and a TDI turbocharged diesel, each with an output of 140 kW (190 hp). The AWD top-of-the-range diesel engine offers an output of 176 kW (239 hp), while the most powerful version with the 2.0 TSI offers a peak output of 200 kW (272 hp) as well as all-wheel drive (4Motion).
The ESC system has also been adapted. As in the sporty R models, it can now be completely deactivated. The two most powerful versions of the Arteon R-Line Edition are fitted with the latest version of the adaptive chassis control DCC.
Prices for the Arteon R-Line Edition start at €55,970 (Germany). Deliveries from February 2020.
