Honda has updated the Clarity fuel cell EV for 2020. It is available in the U.S. market at a lease price of $379 per month which includes up to $15,000 of hydrogen fuel, among other benefits. Buyers in California may be eligible for a $4,500 rebate.
As for the updates, the Clarity gets an improved Audible Vehicle Alert System for better pedestrian awareness at low speeds. In addition, the updates include improvements to its cold-weather starting capabilities, black-painted and heated side mirrors, and a new Crimson Pearl paint replacing the Bordeaux Red.
Inside, the Platinum White models will come standard with a brown-hued interior. The rest of the features and technology have been carried over from the outgoing model. It gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto compatibility, and Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies.
Its electric motor puts out 174 hp between 4,501 and 9,028 rpm and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque between 0 and 3,500 rpm. Honda claims a 360 mile (580 km) EPA driving range.
