The plug-in hybrid version of DS 7 Crossback is now on sale in European markets with prices starting at £47,725 OTR in the UK. It has a 200 hp PureTech combustion engine and two electric motors, and boasts a pure electric range of up to 58 km (WLTP).
The 1.6-litre (1,598 cc) 4-cylinder PureTech turbocharged petrol engine puts out 200 hp at 6,000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. There are two electric motors, one at front and rear, with an output of 81 kW (110 hp) and 83 kW (113 hp), respectively. The combined system output is claimed to be 300 hp and 520 Nm of torque. Transmission is an 8-speed automatic.
The 13.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is claimed to offer a pure electric range of up to 58 km (WLTP). The top speed in this ‘Zero Emission’ mode is 135 km/h. The PHEV also offers ‘Hybrid’, ‘Sport’, and ‘4WD’ modes as well.
If you’re interested to know the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time, the DS 7 Crossback E-Tense 4×4 is claimed to achieve in 5.9 seconds. The top speed is 149 mph or 240 km/h.
As for the charging times, the PHEV’s battery is claimed to charge to full in one hour and 45 minutes from a 7 kW Home Charging Unit, or in 8 hours from a regular domestic socket.
Other technologies include DS Connected Pilot, which is a level 2 autonomous driving system, DS Active Scan Suspension, an electrically controlled vibration damper, DS Park Pilot, and DS Safety.
