The 5th generation Toyota RAV4 has got its top-of-the-range model, the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid. The new PHEV claims to be more powerful yet also more efficient than anything else in its class.
Powering the RAV4 PHEV is a 2.5-litre Hybrid Dynamic Force petrol engine and two electric motors, which deliver a total system output of 225 kW (306 hp). Its lithium-ion battery pack is claimed to deliver a pure electric driving range of more than 60 km/37 mi (WLTP).
If you’re interested to know the 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time, the RAV4 PHEV is claimed to do it in 6.2 seconds. In addition, its CO2 emissions are claimed to be less than 30 g/km (pre-homologation, WLTP-standard data).
Goes on sale in the second half of 2020, with on-sale dates to be determined according to country/market.
