For whatever reason the 410 hp M2 Competition should feel like a slouch, BMW is introducing the M2 CS which gets a bit more power and cuts off some weight as well.

The example featured here is finished in Misano Blue metallic, with some of the exterior bits in exposed carbon fibre (including the roof and diffuser). The bonnet too is made from carbon fibre, cutting the weight by 50 percent compared to the one made out of metal. The car rides on lightweight 19-inch Y-spoke forged wheels finished in high-gloss black or optionally in a matt gold shade; shod with specially adapted Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. M Sport brakes are standard while the buyers can go for M Carbon ceramic ones.

Interiors look delicious too with Alcantara covered M Sport steering wheel, carbon fibre centre console, M Competition sports seats with Alcantara/leather upholstery, M seat belts, and contrast stitching in Fire Red. Notice the door pull too which is finished in carbon fibre.

Moving on to the business end of the story, the 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo in-line 6-cylinder petrol engine puts out 331 kW (450 hp) at 6,250 rpm and 550 Nm of torque between 2,350 and 5,500 rpm. Acceleration from 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) is claimed to happen in 4.0 seconds with an automatic transmission while the manual takes 0.2 seconds more. Electronically limited top speed with standard M Driver’s Package is 280 km/h (174 mph).

The M2 CS can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed M double-clutch automatic transmission. Standard specification includes Adaptive M suspension with Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes. The car also gets an Active M Differential. Download the M2 CS spec sheet here.

Prices start at €95,000.
