The latest entrant into the Indian automotive scene is China’s CFMoto. For the uninitiated, CFMoto makes ATVs and side-by-sides in addition to some really good-looking motorcycles. The Zhejiang-based company has partnered with Bengaluru’s Anvita AutoTech to launch the brand in India. The motorcycles are being imported as CKD kits and are locally assembled. Bookings can be made online with a deposit of Rs 5,000.
For the Indian market, CFMoto is offering the 300 NK, 650 NK, 650 MT, and the 650 GT. Their ex-showroom prices are Rs 229,000, Rs 399,000, Rs 499,000, and Rs 549,000, respectively. The company claims to have received over 720 bookings since August 2019 and the deliveries have begun earlier this month.
The 300 NK is one of those naked motorcycles with a styling reminiscent of a KTM. It is powered by a 292 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with an estimated output of 34 hp and 20.5 Nm (15 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Features include LED lighting, TFT display, and ABS.
The 650 family members are powered by a 649 cc in-line 2-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox. As with the 300 NK, the 650 NK boasts a street fighter styling, while the 650 MT and 650 GT are adventure tourer and sports tourer motorcycles, respectively. The MT gets a large 18-litre fuel tank.
The 650 GT’s output figures are claimed to be 70 hp at 8,750 rpm and 62 Nm (46 lb-ft) of torque at 7,000 rpm. It features an adjustable windshield, 5-inch TFT display, a USB port, KYB suspension, and ABS.
The Mumbai and Bengaluru dealerships will be followed by Hyderabad, Chennai, Cochin, Kolkata and Guwahati in the coming days. AAT CFMoto plans to launch 50 showrooms across India by 2021.
