Skoda Kodiaq Scout launched in India at Rs 34 lakh

Skoda Auto India has launched the Kodiaq Scout in the country, at an introductory price of Rs 33,99,599, ex-showroom. The Kodiaq Scout made its global debut over two years ago, and is intended to look more robust compared to the other Kodiaq models.

Visually, the car gets silver inserts for the front and rear bumper, 18-inch dual-tone Anthacite Alloy wheels, Scout badging on the front fenders, and matt silver finish for the mirrors. Other exterior features include full LED headlamps with AFS (Adaptive Front Light System), front fog lamps with cornering function, and LED taillights. The Kodiaq Scout sold in the international markets gets 19-inch wheels.

Buyers have four color options: Lava Blue, Quartz Grey, Moon White, and Magic Black.

Interiors get brushed wood décor with ‘Scout’ inscription, Black Alcantara leather upholstery, stitched ‘Scout’ logo on the seat backrests, and aluminum pedals. The rest of the features include ambient lighting, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, navigation, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with lumbar support, 3-zone climate control, a 10-speaker Canton audio system, and safety features including 9 airbags and iBuzz Fatigue Alert. Powering the Kodiaq Scout in India is a 2.0-litre (1,968 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, producing 150 hp between 3,500-4,000 rpm and 340 Nm of torque between 1,750-3,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

In addition to the Eco, Normal, Sport, Individual, and Snow modes, the SUV also gets Off-Road mode, which operates at speeds of up to 30 km/h. Its functions such as the steering wheel angle, compass, altimeter, and the oil and coolant temperature, are shown on the infotainment display.

The Scout gets an underbody protective cover and Rough Road Package as well. The latter is additional protection for the engine bay, oil sump, gearbox, rear suspension, lateral arms, and brake hoses.

While the Scout measures slightly longer (4,705 mm) than the other Kodiaq models (4,697 mm), there’s no change in the ground clearance (188 mm, unladen).
