The all-electric version of the Volvo XC40 is ready to be showcased to the world. One of the technologies it’ll include is an infotainment system powered by Android.
Naturally, the system will come with Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store built-in. It’ll also get real-time updates to the aforementioned services, in addition to over-the-air updates for the software and operating system.
The Google Assistant allows the passengers to get things done with voice command for in-car functions such as controlling the temperature, setting a destination, playing their favorite music and podcasts on apps like Spotify, and sending messages as well. The Google Assistant also enables the owner to interact with smart-home devices from the XC40.
Besides providing refreshed map and traffic data in real-time, Google Maps will also suggest the nearest charging station en route. The same, fresh map data will be used to improve the capabilities of the XC40’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) by providing important information to the driver such as speed limits and curves in the road.
