The Toyota Rush or Daihatsu Terios was sold in Japan until the second generation model. The third generation model was unveiled in November 2017 and went on sale in markets such as Indonesia and Malaysia.
According to the leaked brochure, a new compact crossover called Raize will go on sale in the Japanese market in November 2019 as a replacement to the Rush/Terios. At first glance, the Raize might look like a re-badged version of MSIL’s Vitara Brezza (remember the Toyota-Suzuki collaboration which includes sharing of vehicles?)
However, a deeper look at the vehicle might remind you of the Daihatsu DN TREC concept of 2017. The Raize appears to be the production version of that concept.
The Raize is a stylish SUV too with design elements such as blacked-out A- and B-pillars to create a floating roof effect, wraparound rear windscreen, and a design element at the rear that connects the taillamps, just like in the aforementioned concept.
The Raize is expected to be offered with a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine.
