The performance variant of the T-Roc is now available to order in Europe with prices starting at €43,995 (in Germany). The T-Roc R was globally unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show earlier this year.
The performance SUV packs a sporty character with a redesigned front bumper with vertically integrated DRLs and black surround for the intakes; 18-inch Spielberg alloy wheels, 17-inch brake system, and redesigned rear bumper with quad tailpipes. Buyers can go for 19-inch Pretoria Dark Graphite matte alloy wheels (€820) shod with 235/40 tyres.
The interiors have been spiced-up as well with R logo door sills, leather-wrapped multifunction sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, black headliner, and R logo on the back of the seats. Other standard features include sports suspension with lowered ride height, race mode, and launch control. The ESC (Electronic Stability Control) feature can be manually switched off too.
The T-Roc R is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder TSI motor, which is tuned to produce 221 kW (300 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. A 7-speed DSG automatic sends power to all four wheels via 4Motion AWD system. The performance SUV is claimed to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
Options include R Performance titanium exhaust system (€3,800), Lapiz Blue matte decorative trims, Dynamic Chassis Control, and Beats sound system.
