The GST on electric vehicles in India has been reduced from 12% to 5% recently. As a result, the ex-showroom prices of EVs have come down.
The Hyundai Kona electric, which was launched in the country last month at Rs 25,30,000, has seen a price drop of just over Rs 1.58 lakh. The EV is now available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 23.72 lakh.

Another electric vehicle that is now more affordable is the Tata Tigor EV. The prices have come down by up to Rs 80,000, reportedly. Following the revised GST rate, the Tigor EV which was earlier priced between Rs 12.35 to Rs 12.71 lakh (ESP Mumbai), will now be available at Rs 11.58 to Rs 11.92 lakh. However, these prices do not include FAME II subsidy of Rs 1.62 lakh and TCS.
