Yamaha’s Thailand subsidiary has launched a retro-themed motorcycle called XSR155, with prices starting at 91,500 THB or Rs 2.10 lakh or $2,960. It is available in four design themes – Premium, Sport Heritage, Elegance, and Wanderlust.
The bike appears to be based on the same Deltabox frame as the R15, with the wheelbase and ground clearance measuring 1330 mm and 170 mm, respectively.
Features include LED headlight, LED taillight, full LCD digital instrument cluster, Heritage seat, disc brakes at both ends, and 17-inch wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres measuring 110/70 at front and 140/70 at the rear. Suspension duties are handled by an inverted telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Download Yamaha XSR155 brochure here.
As the name suggests, the XSR155 is powered by a 155 cc single-cylinder, water-cooled VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) engine, most likely producing the same 19.3 hp at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Fuel tank can hold 10 litres, and the engine is also capable of accepting E10 gasohol.
