Maruti Suzuki (MSIL) has launched a new, Ertiga-based crossover called XL6, with prices starting at Rs 9,79,689 ex-showroom, Pan India. Variant wise ex-showroom prices below –
Zeta | Zeta AT | Alpha | Alpha AT |
Rs 9,79,689 | Rs 10,89,689 | Rs 10,36,189 | Rs 11,46,189 |
Unlike the Ertiga, the XL6 will be sold via MSIL’s NEXA retail chain.
As we can see, the XL6 gets a fresh face with new hexagonal-shaped grille, new Quad LED headlamps, and new bumper design and fog lamp housing; the fog lamps are LEDs too. The grille slat connects the LED DRLs, adding a premium touch. The vehicle gets body cladding throughout, including fat wheel arches for a crossover feel. Adding to those looks are skid plates front and rear, and roof rails. Black ORVMs and black wheels look rather tasteful.
The interiors of the XL6 has a premium touch too with features including Stone Finished trim on the dashboard, 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, leather-upholstered captain seats for the second row with one-touch fold, auto AC, and cruise control.
Safety equipment includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt pretensioners with force limiters, and ISOFix anchorages. MSIL claims that the vehicle complies with frontal offset impact, side impact, and pedestrian impact protection as well.
Powering the XL6 is a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. The engine puts out 77 kW (103 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, paired to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic. Power is sent to the front wheels only.
Buyers have 6 exterior colors to choose from – Nexa Blue, Brave Khaki, Auburn Red, Magma Gray, Premium Silver, and Arctic White.
