After an exhaustive “Badass” social media campaign, Kia Motors has finally launched the Seltos SUV in India, with prices starting at Rs 9.69 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India. Variant wise introductory ex-showroom prices below –

As we can see above, there are two main variants on offer – Tech Line and GT Line, with the latter packing a sporty appeal. However, the visual differences are rather subtle.
GT Line vs Tech Line
Depending on the variant, exterior features include Crown Jewel LED headlamps, Heartbeat LED DRLs, Ice Cube LED fog lamps, Heartbeat LED taillamps, and 17-inch Crystal Cut alloy wheels with Red centre cap. The HTX+ and GTX+ models get electric sunroof too.
GT Line
Depending on the variant, the stylish interiors of the Seltos feature Black & Beige two-tone theme, leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay compatibility, UVO connected car tech with 3-year free subscription, 7-inch MID, 8-inch Head-Up Display, 8-speaker Bose audio system, auto AC, 8-way driver power seat, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, and cruise control. GT Line
Features at the rear include AC vents, 60:40 split rear seats with 2-step reclining function, and USB charger. Luggage capacity is 433 litres.
Safety equipment includes 6 airbags (two standard), ABS with EBD (standard), ESC, disc brakes at all four corners, rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
The Tech Line variants are powered by 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The 1,497 cc 4-cylinder Smartstream petrol engine produces 115 hp at 6,300 rpm and 114 Nm (84 lb-ft) of torque at 4500 rpm, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT.
The 1,493 cc 4-cylinder turbocharged CRDi diesel engine offers 115 hp at 4,000 rpm and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque between 1,500 – 2,750 rpm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The GT Line variants pack a 1.4-litre (1,353 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged Smartstream petrol engine that is tuned to produce 140 hp at 6,000 rpm and 242 Nm (178 lb-ft) of torque between 1,500 – 3,200 rpm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
All 3 engines are BS6 compliant, and the power is sent to the front wheels only.

Besides 8 monotone exterior colors, the Seltos is offered in 5 dual-tone options too – Intense Red with Aurora Black Pearl, Steel Silver with Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl with Aurora Black Pearl, Steel Silver with punchy Orange, and Glacier White Pearl with Punchy Orange.
The Seltos comes with 3 years comprehensive warranty, extendable up to 5 years. The offering includes 24/7 roadside assistance of 3 years and a scratch care program for one time free repair. Kia said that a service network across 160 cities in India is supported by a digitized, IoT enabled Kia LINK app to efficiently manage service lifecycle.
The company also announced that the Seltos has received over 32,000 bookings so far and the deliveries will begin from today. The company’s Anantapur plant has an annual production capacity of 300,000 units, which should ensure smooth deliveries to the increasing demand of Seltos in the country.
