The Indian automotive industry is witnessing an unprecedented slowdown since March this year, which has continued in the July sales too. The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has registered a massive decline in sales.
The company sold a total of 109,264 units (including exports) in July 2019 as against 164,369 units in the same period last year, registering a decline of 33.5%. The domestic sales declined by 36.3% and the exports by 9.4%.
