FCA has launched the 4th generation Jeep Wrangler in India, available only in a 4-door Sahara variant named as Wrangler Unlimited, priced at Rs 63.94 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Wrangler made its debut in the country nearly two years ago and is still on the pricey side due to CBU import.
As for the 4th generation model, the global debut happened in November 2017 at the LA Auto Show. The aforementioned 4-door variant comes with removable roof and doors for open-air driving. Other exterior features include standard LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, LED taillamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Wrangler JL gets a 7-inch Driver Information Display, 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, multiple USB ports, and lockable glovebox and centre console. Buyers can opt for a 9-speaker, 552-watt Alpine audio system.
The new Wrangler in India claims to offer more than 70 standard and available safety features. These include multistage airbags, front-seat-mounted side airbags, ESC, Hill Start Assist (HSA), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Parksense Rear Park Assist System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring, and Trailer Sway Control (TSC). Powering the Wrangler JL in India is a newly developed 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 268 hp and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Wrangler gets Selec-Trac 4×4 System featuring a full-time mode that will automatically switch from 2WD to 4WD as per the driving conditions. Approach, breakover, and departure angles are 41.8, 21, and 36.1 degrees, respectively. Source
