If the Lexus’ dramatic designs don’t tickle your taste buds, there are Inspiration Series to add some more drama and glamour. After the LC and LX, the LS 500 is the latest one to get that treatment.
Speaking of which, the exterior is finished in Deep Garnet, a deep, metallic shade of red that apparently shimmers in direct sun. That color is complemented by standard 20-inch wheels finished in Black Vapor Chrome which also glimmers in the sun.
Inside, the glamour continues with the standard White leather trim used on the seats, center console and door panels. The semi-aniline leather uses a dyeing process that gives it a bright white color that stands in stark contrast to the black dashboard, steering wheel and carpet, Lexus said. The drama is further accentuated by the standard Kiriko glass trim on the door panels, which was previously only available with the Executive Package. Additional Inspiration Series touches include blue LED dash lighting and “Lexus” puddle lamps at each door.
Like all 2020 LS 500s, the Inspiration Series is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo engine that develops 416 hp and 599 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. In RWD form, the LS 500 is claimed to deliver a 0-60 mph (97 km/h) time of 4.6 seconds. Buyers can opt for AWD system with a Torsen limited-slip centre differential to further enhance grip, traction and cornering stability.
Limited to just 300 units in the U.S., the 2020 LS 500 Inspiration Edition goes on sale this fall.
