Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the Glanza, with prices starting at Rs 7.22 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. Variant wise ex-Delhi prices below –

For those who are wondering what on earth is this, well, the Glanza is part of Toyota-Suzuki collaboration, in which both companies will share some of their vehicles for India and other markets. More details on the partnership here.
As for the Glanza, the folks at TKM have done a literal re-badging of the facelifted Baleno. Exterior features include LED projector headlamps with DRL, 16-inch Diamond-cut alloy wheels, ORVM-integrated turn signals, LED rear combination lamps, and a roof spoiler.
Inside, features include 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, 4 speakers & 2 tweeters, voice command, dual-tone fabric seats, tilt & telescopic steering wheel, driver seat height adjustment, front seat belt height adjustment, auto AC, auto up/down driver power window, electrochromic IRVM, 60:40 split rear seats, and electrically foldable ORVMs with auto fold function.
Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, front fog lamps, ISOFIX anchorages, driver & co-driver seat belt reminder, front seat belt pretensioner & force limiter, speed sensing auto door locks, anti-pinch driver power window, rear parking sensors, rear camera, rear defogger, and rear wiper with washer.
Powertrain
As we can see in the list above, the Glanza is available with 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 83 hp at 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. The mild-hybrid variants offer 90 hp at 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm. The mild-hybrid technology offers torque assist function, idle start-stop, and brake energy regeneration. Transmission is a 5-speed manual or CVT.
TKM is offering a warranty of 3 year/100K km and an extended warranty of up to 5 year/220K km. While this whole thing looks like a hurried decision, TKM is banking on the “Toyota ownership experience” and Service experience which has a fairly good reputation in the country.
