FCA has launched the much-awaited Jeep Compass Trailhawk in India, priced at Rs 26.80 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India. Aimed at off-road enthusiasts, the Trailhawk is designed to crawl over the rocks as well.
Visually, the Trailhawk is distinguished with matt grey surrounds for the grille, reworked bumpers which offer better approach (26.5) and departure (31.6) angles, black applique on the bonnet, black ORVMs, and 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels designed for off-road challenges. The SUV also boasts water fording depth of over 480 mm. In addition, there’ll also be Trailhawk and Trail Rated badges to let the regular Compass drivers know that this is a more capable one.
The interiors are tastefully distinguished as well, with red accents, red contrast stitching, and Trailhawk embroidered leather seats. Other features include 7-inch MID, 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, Voice Command, in-build Navigation, 6 speakers, cruise control, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats. As for the capability side of things, the Trailhawk features Select-Terrain system with Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, and a Rock mode as well. The SUV also features underbody protection which includes skid plates for the cooling module, engine and transmission oil pans, front suspension, and fuel tanks.
Safety features include full-length side curtain airbags (total 6 airbags), ABS with EBD, ESC, Hill Start Assist, Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control, cornering fog lamps, rear fog lamps, rear wiper and defogger, reverse parking sensors, and reverse camera.
Powering the Compass Trailhawk is a 2.0-litre (1956 cc) 4-cylinder Multijet II turbo diesel engine that produces 170 hp at 3750 rpm and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque between 1750 – 2500 rpm, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Besides the Exotica Red featured here, buyers can choose from 4 other exterior paint jobs – Vocal White, Minimal Grey, Magnesio Grey, and Brilliant Black.
