Last year, German tuner Brabus entered the marine industry with Finland’s Axopar. The duo unveiled Brabus Shadow 500 Black Ops at the 2019 boot Düsseldorf, limited to just 28 units. The same design theme has been applied to this Brabus Ultimate E Shadow Edition, also limited to 28 units.
As with the aforementioned luxury boat, the smart EQ fortwo cabrio is finished in gunmetal grey paint. Complementing the widebody kit are the lightweight, 18-inch Brabus Monoblock Y forged wheels.
Red leather has been used generously throughout the cockpit, and naked carbon trim elements and aluminium pedals add to the drama. The seat surfaces feature Silvertex fabric.
Its not all looks though. The Brabus Ultimate E Shadow Edition gets a power upgrade too, thanks to a reprogrammed torque control system.
In Sport + mode, the motor produces an increased peak output of 68 kW or 92 hp (stock 60 kW) and peak torque climbs to 180 Nm, a 20 Nm more than the stock vehicle. In the same mode, the two-seater sprints from rest to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds, apparently. However, the top speed remains limited to 130 km/h.
Other changes include increased energy recovery rate in Eco mode – the car brakes much more strongly than the production model when lifting off the accelerator, Brabus said. The tuner has reworked on the suspension as well.
Depending on the driving style, the Ultimate E Shadow Edition is claimed to offer a range of up to 125 km on a single charge.
