Along with the SLC Final Edition, Mercedes-Benz has revealed the SL Grand Edition. It begins with metallic paint options – standard black, brilliant white (designo diamond white bright), various tones of grey and obsidian black. High-gloss chrome and matt silver applications for the front bumper add a touch of grandness.
The Grand Edition models have 19-inch front and 20-inch rear AMG 10-spoke forged wheels. These are painted in high-gloss black with a high-sheen rim flange and spokes. The SL Grand Edition logo is placed on the fender vents, subtly reference the special model’s status.
The interiors get designo tundra brown pearl leather upholstery. In addition to the extensive standard equipment, the Grand Edition gets Airscarf neck-level heating system, sports suspension lowered by 10 mm and firmer tuning, active multicontour seats with massage and dynamic handling function, seat climate control, Driving Assistance Plus Package and Active Parking Assist.
The SL Grand Edition will be available in two variants – SL 400 and SL 500. The former is powered by a 2,996 cc V6 with 270 kW (362 bhp) and 500 Nm on offer, while the latter is equipped with a 4,663 cc V8 offering 335 kW (449 bhp) and 700 Nm of torque. 0 – 100 km/h acceleration happens in 4.9 and 4.3 seconds, respectively. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
Priced at €114,811.20 (SL 400) and €135,993.20 (SL 500) in Germany (Including VAT).
