India Kawasaki Motors has launched the Versys 1000 at Rs 10,69,000 ex-showroom, Delhi. The bike is assembled at the company’s facility in Chakan, Pune, and the customers who booked the Versys 1000 during pre-booking period can expect the delivery from March 2019 onwards.
Features include twin LED headlamps, analogue-LCD instrumentation, adjustable windscreen, KCMF (Kawasaki Cornering Management Function), KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control), Cruise Control and a 40W power outlet.
Housed inside an aluminium frame is a 1,043 cc inline 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, developing 88.2 kW (118 bhp) at 9,000 rpm and 102 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike also features Assist & Slipper Clutch.
Suspension duties are handled by 43 mm inverted fork with rebound damping (right-side) and spring preload adjustability, while the rear is a Horizontal Back-link, gas-charged, with rebound damping and remote spring preload adjustability as well. As for braking, dual 310 mm petal discs with 4-piston calipers are employed at front, while a single 250 mm petal disc takes care of the rear. Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS) comes as standard too.
“The bespoke Versys 1000 has a style of adventure model, but it is most suited for sport riding and long touring. Technically, it is a crossover from the Ninja 1000 with a purpose of thrilling performance with everyday versatility. I hope our customers explore endless possibilities with the Versys 1000,” said Naoki Matsumoto, Managing Director – India Kawasaki Motors.
The Versys 1000 is available in pearl flat stardust white/metallic flat spark black colour.
