The 5th generation Toyota RAV4 has received TRD treatment for the model year 2020. The sporty look begins with the paint job.
Available in an exclusive two-tone Magnetic Gray Metallic with Ice Edge roof combination, the RAV4 TRD Off-Road is accented by dark gray front and rear lower fascias. Other paint options are Midnight Black or Lunar Rock – both of which are available with an optional Ice Edge roof. The palette also includes Ruby Flare Pearl and Super White. Front LED fog lights are standard.
The SUV rolls on lighter 18-inch matte black TRD alloy wheels shod with Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail all-terrain tires. Toyota says that these tyres come with a unique tread pattern and compound developed to TRD’s technical requirements. Also included is TRD Off-Road suspension inspired by Rally RAV4 Race Team. Unique red coil springs are tuned for off-roading. The twin-tube shocks are re-valved and feature new internal rebound springs to improve rebound control, Toyota said. The suspension also offers improved body control over large bumps and dips.

Interiors get tastefully applied red accents and red contrast stitching. Seat surfaces are covered in SofTex, which apparently is lighter than leather yet highly durable. The front seats have TRD logo stitched into the headrests. TRD all-weather floor mats and rear cargo mats round off the treatment.
Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive is standard, which can direct up to 50 percent of the torque to the rear wheels, as well as to the left or right rear wheel as required. When AWD isn’t needed, Rear Driveline is disconnected for fuel efficiency.
Along with the RAV4, the Tacoma truck also receives some TRD treatment in different variants – TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro. Depending on the variant, features include a new grille, sequential LED headlamps with DRLs, 17-inch wheels, Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Kevlar-reinforced tires, TRD-tuned Bilstein shocks, 10-way power driver seat, 8-inch touchscreen display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, power moonroof, JBL premium audio, and Panoramic View Monitor (PVM).
The Tacoma TRD Pro comes standard with 4WDemand part-time 4-wheel drive with an electronically controlled transfer case and an electronically controlled locking rear differential.
