Force Motors has launched a new top-of-the-line variant called Gurkha Xtreme, priced at Rs 12,99,000 ex-showroom, Pan India.
The Gurkha Xtreme is available in a 3-door body style. The off-roader comes with new front and rear steel bumpers, side cladding, body graphics, clear lens headlamps with protective grille, front fog lamps, large ORVMs, slip-resistant full-length footboard, and wider (245/70 R16) tubeless tyres. The Snorkel gives the Gurkha a high water wading ability of up to 550 mm.
Powering the Gurkha Xtreme is a 2,149 cc 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine derived from Mercedes-Benz OM611, producing 140 bhp at 3,800 rpm and 321 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,400 rpm. Transmission is a 5-speed manual derived from the Mercedes G-32. As for off-roading, the transfer case has 3 options – 4×2 High, 4×4 High or 4×4 Low.
The vehicle has 44° Approach Angle and 40° Departure Angle, and the Ramp Over Angle of 30° is claimed to be the best in its class. Ground clearance measures 210 mm. The Gurkha Xtreme also claims to be the only vehicle in its class with mechanically actuated differential locks on both axles.
The company also said that the coil spring suspension has been optimally tuned to ensure unmatched ride and handling both on-road as well as off-road.
