The powertrain details of the 2019 Porsche Macan which made its Shanghai debut in July, are now available.
The standard Macan will be powered by a 2.0-litre (1,984 cc) in-line 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine which develops 180 kW (241 bhp) @ 5,000 – 6,750 rpm and 370 Nm of torque @ 1,600 – 4,500 rpm. Compared to the previous model, the output figures have gone down. However, 0-100 km/h acceleration happens in 6.7 seconds (6.5 with Sport Chrono Package) and top speed is 139 mph or 224 km/h.

Also on offer at launch is the Macan S, powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo petrol engine which develops 260 kW (349 bhp) @ 5,400 – 6,400 rpm and 480 Nm of torque @ 1,360 – 4,800 rpm. Compared to the previous model, there’s an increase of 10 kW (14 bhp) and 20 Nm. 0-100 km/h acceleration happens in 5.3 seconds (5.1 with Sport Chrono Package) and top speed is 157 mph or 253 km/h.
The V6 engine has dropped the twin-turbos and replacing them is a new twin-scroll turbocharger located in the inner V, resulting in short exhaust gas paths between the combustion chambers and the turbocharger, ensuring immediate responsiveness.
Transmission is a 7-speed PDK, sending power to the all four wheels via Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system.
