That’s right. If you’re a fan of the “extreme performance Jaguar ever”, you can now enjoy a hot lap at none other than the Nürburgring Nordschleife. You won’t be allowed to drive though, but you can enjoy the thrill-ride through the Green Hell alongside a professional driver of Jaguar Experience.
The XE SV Project 8 is the most extreme performance road-legal Jaguar ever, designed, engineered and hand-assembled by Special Vehicle Operations. The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 produces 600 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. Read more about the car here.
Thrill-seekers will get a full demonstration of Project 8’s performance and handling as Jaguar’s professional drivers take them on a lap of ‘The Green Hell’ at speeds in excess of 250 km/h (155 mph). Passengers will also experience g-forces of more than 1.3 g around the 20.8 km, 73-turn circuit – up to 1.8 g in the banked Karussell corner.
In November 2017, the Project 8 lapped the ‘ring in 7 min 21.23 seconds. As we can see in the pictures, the XJR575 is also available to experience as a passenger. Tickets can be booked online and are priced at €199 per lap. The price includes the use of a safety helmet and balaclava.
