Tata Motors has launched the Tiago NRG (pronounced energy), priced at Rs 549,995 for petrol and Rs 631,995 for the diesel variant. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Dubbed as “Urban Toughroader”, the Tiago NRG gets crossover-like visual upgrades on the exterior. Speaking of which, it gets body cladding throughout, including on the wheel arches which now look a bit squarish. There are also rugged-looking skidplates, a muscular finisher on the tailgate, and infinity black roof with roof rails. The top of the grille has been blacked-out too.
Rounding off the looks are 14-inch dual-tone 4-spoke DurAlloy wheels. Compared to the regular Tiago, the NRG’s ground clearance is at 180 mm.
Interiors get black treatment with Canyon orange highlights, seats with body-hugging bolsters featuring a denim-inspired fabric, cooled glove box, 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman, Navigation with 3D maps, 8 speakers (4 speakers and 4 tweeters), and voice command for media, radio and phone.
As for safety, the NRG gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Corner Stability Control, Reverse parking assist, rear wiper, follow-me-home lamps and driver seatbelt reminder as standard.
No other mechanical changes, the Tiago NRG is offered with a choice of 85 hp 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine or a 70 hp 1.05-litre 3-cylinder diesel engine. Transmission is a 5-speed manual.
The Tiago NRG is available in 3 colors — Malabar Silver, Canyon Orange and Fuji White.
