Tata Motors has launched the Nexon Kraz – a limited edition model to mark the 1st anniversary of the compact SUV which was launched in September 2017. Pronounced as craze/kreiz, the Kraz petrol is priced at Rs 7.14 lakh while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 8.07 lakh. Prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
On the exterior, the Nexon Kraz gets an exclusive Tromso Black body color with neo-green accents on the grille, mirror housings and on the wheel covers. The roof is painted in sonic-silver forming a dual-tone paint scheme. And yes, there is an obligatory Kraz badging.
Interiors get piano black dashboard with neo-green air vent surrounds, piano black trims on the steering wheel, doors and gear-shift lever. The seats get neo-green contrast stitching.
The Kraz appears to be based on the mid-spec XT variant, which is why you’re not seeing the floating infotainment system, but instead there is a monochrome unit which still comes with bluetooth connectivity. Other features include automatic AC, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs and steering mounted audio and phone controls.
As for the safety, the dual front airbags, ABS with EBD are standard across all Nexon variants. The XT variant gets rear parking sensors as well.
No mechanical changes. The petrol Nexon is powered by a 110 hp 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine while the diesel is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit which also produces 110 hp. The Kraz is offered only with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Mayank Pareek, President – PVBU, Tata Motors, said – “Since launch, the Nexon has received a very good response and today is among the top 5 selling compact SUVs. We would like to thank all our customers for their trust in the brand and we will continue to bring exciting products in the market.”
