The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo (later renamed to Rapid Edition) was a true head-turner, especially in that flashy Red. The tastefully applied black accents made the people give it another look. This time, there’s a new one called Rapid Onyx, priced at Rs 9.75 lakh, ex-showroom.

There are two exterior paint options – Candy White and Lapiz Blue. As we can see in the picture, it gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs, chrome surround for the grille, gloss black finished ORVMs, B-pillars, boot lid garnish, side molding, and 16-inch Clubber alloy wheels.
Interiors are finished in dual-tone Ebony-Sand, with perforated beige and wood design leatherette upholstery. There’s also flat-bottom steering wheel with black stitching, and touchscreen infotainment system with SmartLink.
No mechanical changes. The Rapid Onyx is powered by a 105 hp 1.6-litre petrol engine or a 110 hp 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel unit. The petrol engine is paired with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel gets an option of 7-speed DSG.
