Bentley is offering a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, to celebrate its upcoming centenary. Each of this 100 limited edition Mulsannes will have a slice of W.O.’s personal car, literally.

And that slice will be of the original crankshaft taken from W.O. Bentley’s personal 8 Litre car – the last model he designed for Bentley Motors back in 1930.

Aimed at collectors, the Mulsanne W.O. Edition can be specified on any of the three Mulsanne models. Key highlights include a Heritage hide reflecting the patina of vintage cars, Beluga black wheels, and a cocktail cabinet or bottle cooler featuring a slice of W.O.’s own 8 Litre crankshaft set into the armrest.

Just below the machined metal display case is an inscription detailing the significance of the Bentley artefact. Interiors get four different types of wood, however, the Dark Stain Burr Walnut veneer gets the importance. Aluminium highlights add the elegance.

The Mulsanne is finished with Fireglow lambswool rugs, glass tumblers, privacy curtains to the rear doors, and a rear seat entertainment system.

A discreet W.O. Bentley signature badge is displayed on the lower front fender, while special centenary badging adorns the wheel centres and door treadplates.

No mechanical changes. The Mulsanne is powered by a 6752 cc twin-turbo V8 that develops 512 hp and 1020 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. The car features self-leveling air suspension. If you’re wondering, the extended wheelbase model weighs 2730 kg (kerb).

The special model will make its public debut at Monterey Car Week in California USA in late August, with customer deliveries commencing in 2019 – Bentley’s centenary year.
