India Kawasaki Motors has launched the updated Ninja 300, priced at Rs 298,000 ex-showroom, Delhi. The bike comes with front and rear ABS along with new colours and graphics. As part of the company’s expansion plan in the country, the new Ninja 300 also gets locally produced parts.
Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors, said – “As per Kawasaki’s product portfolio Ninja 300 is entry level sports bike. We have observed that customers start with Ninja 300 and then upgrade to the next class. Therefore, Ninja 300 happens to be our bestselling product in India because of affordable price.”
The 296 cc 4-stroke parallel-twin liquid cooled engine develops 39 hp @ 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm of torque @ 10,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with Assist & Slipper Clutch.
Other features include a heat management technology which directs hot air down and away from the rider.
Front suspension is a 37 mm telescopic fork while the rear is a gas-charged monoshock with 5-way adjustable pre-load. Braking duties are handled by single discs front and rear, measuring 290 mm and 220 mm, respectively. The ABS is claimed to be the world’s smallest unit.
There are two color schemes to choose from – lime green/ebony and candy plasma blue.
