Tata Motors has launched the Nexon AMT, priced at Rs 9.41 lakh for the petrol and Rs 10.30 lakh for the diesel. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The car was revealed to the media last month.
Dubbed as HyprDrive Self – Shift Gears (S-SG), the 6-speed AMT can be had either with 1.2L turbo petrol or 1.5L turbo diesel engines. The output figures remain unchanged.
The Multi-drive modes are present here too. The ECO and CITY modes are reserved for automatic driving while the SPORT mode is for ‘Tiptronic’ or manual shifting. The mode selector defaults to CITY.
The AMT features Intelligent Transmission Controller that aids in quick overtaking manoeuvres by downshifting gears (kick-down) and after making an overtake, maintains the power delivery to avoid jerks (fast-off). The system also ensures that the vehicle doesn’t stall after a sudden braking and re-acceleration (anti-stall).

The AMT is offered on the top-spec XZ+ trim, which means the XZA+ carries over the features such as 6.5-inch ConnectNext Infotainment System by Harman, Android Auto, Voice Command, Navigation, 8 speakers, front and rear fog lamps, rear defogger and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The XZA+ also gets Smart Hill Assist, Creep functionality for convenience in stop-go city traffic, and wearable PEPS key.
There is a new body colour called Etna Orange with a Sonic Silver dual-tone roof option.
