Nissan showcased the Leaf Open Car, an open-air version of the new Leaf, in Tokyo today.
The all-electric car was displayed at a forum to celebrate the 100,000 sales milestone of the Leaf EV in Japan since the model was first introduced in 2010.
About 100 people, including local and prefectural government officials and company executives, participated in the forum to discuss the creation of a “zero-emission society,” Nissan said.
The open-air Leaf will most likely remain a concept/one-off as the company mentioned that they currently don’t have any plans of introducing this as a series production vehicle.
The new generation Leaf was globally unveiled in Las Vegas, United States, in September 2017. The EV is entering the ASEAN markets as well, and was recently showcased in Thailand.
