Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has launched the second generation Amaze with prices starting at Rs 5,59,900 ex-showroom, Pan India. Variant wise ex-showroom prices below –

The new Amaze was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Honda said that the new Amaze was developed at Honda R&D Asia Pacific (Bangkok), following extensive market surveys with an aim to exceed the needs and aspirations of Indian customers.
According to the company, the model has been developed with a concept of ‘Amazing Compact Limousine’ which combines a sleek design, better cabin and cargo space within 4 metres and outstanding driving performance with a comfortable ride.
As for the exterior design, Honda calls it ‘Dauntless Solid’. Exterior equipment includes headlamp-integrated LED position lights, front fog lamps, OVRM-integrated LED turn signals, shark fin antenna and 15-inch multi spoke alloy wheels.
Interiors get a push button start/stop, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in satellite navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Voice Command, Auto AC, paddle shifters (CVT variant), cruise control, height adjustable driver’s seat, driver side window one touch up/down with pinch guard.
Powertrains
Powering the new Amaze is a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 90 hp at 6000 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 4800 rpm, paired with a 5-speed manual or a CVT. There is also 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel on offer.
The diesel engine has been tuned to deliver different outputs based on the transmission choice. With a 5-speed manual, the engine delivers 100 hp at 3600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm. With the CVT, the output is less (80 hp and 160 Nm) in order to better suit the transmission.
Safety
Safety equipment includes dual front airbags (standard), ABS with EBD (standard), ISOFIX child seat anchorages (standard), front seat pretensioner with load limiter (standard), Day/Night rear-view mirror, rear windshield defogger, speed sensing auto door locks, impact sensing door unlock, rear parking sensors and rear camera with guidelines.
As for the dimensions, the compact sedan measures 3995 mm in length, 1695 mm in width and 1501 mm in height. Wheelbase measures 2470 mm. Luggage space measures 420 litres.
The new Amaze is available in a choice of 5 exterior colours – Radiant Red Metallic (new introduction), Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic and White Orchid Pearl.
