2019 Chevrolet Camaro revealed with new Turbo 1LE trim

Chevrolet has revealed the 2019 Camaro with design upgrades, added features and a new Turbo 1LE trim.

According to the company, the new Camaro’s updated designs are not just for looks but also to help improve performance. For instance, the grille details, hood and vents were designed for optimized air flow, either to cool components or to help minimize drag or lift.

Design highlights include:

• New front-end styling with distinct differences between LS/LT, RS and SS, including the grille, LED headlamps and reshaped hood (ZL1 retains its airflow-optimized front-end styling)
• New rear fascias for all models, with specific diffusers on RS and SS when equipped with Dual Mode Exhaust
• New LED tail lamps with a more sculptured evolution of Chevrolet’s signature dual-element design; red lenses are featured on LS and LT, with RS, SS and ZL1 featuring dark-tinted lenses
• New 20-inch wheel designs on RS and SS

Powertrains
The existing 275 hp 2.0L turbo, 335 hp 3.6 V6 and 455 hp 6.2L V8 engines have been carried over. However, the Camaro SS is now offered with a 10-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission featuring custom launch control and line lock.

Turbo 1LE
The new Camaro Turbo 1LE joins the V6 1LE, SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE to round out Camaro’s lineup of 1LE track stars. It gets the aforementioned 2.0L turbo engine producing 275 hp and 400 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Turbo 1LE highlights include near 50/50 weight balance, Brembo brake package with low-metallic performance pads, FE3 suspension with specifically tuned dampers, Mode Selector with Sport Mode and new Track Mode; Competition Mode (within Sport and Track Modes) includes performance instrument readouts, launch control, shift lights and more.

2019 Camaro 3LT

The Turbo 1LE interiors get standard sueded flat-bottom steering wheel and shift knob and an available Recaro seats. The 2019 Camaro offers a standard 7-inch touchscreen while an 8-inch touchscreen featuring Infotainment 3 software is available as well, including one with navigation.

Chevrolet said that the standard rear-vision camera system has been improved with a new, digital high-definition camera. Performance Data Recorder system has been enhanced as well. Forward Collision Alert joins the Camaro’s available active safety features.
